On this page you will find a list of some of the popular Garden Railway groups & clubs that you can sign up to. Most have local area divisions that are always well worth looking into and joining.

If you know of or wish to have your group added to this list then please email the details to me at - jason@gscalemad.co.uk

The 16mm group.

We run narrow gauge trains in the scale of 1:19 which represents 16mm: 1ft running on 0 gauge [32mm] track giving a prototype 2ft gauge or 45mm gauge representing 3ft gauge prototypes. For more details click on the 16mm banner above.

The G Scale Society.

Started by the German firm of Lehmann in the 1960s, with a trade name of LGB (which translated means Lehmann Big Railway), G scale is essentially the modelling of narrow gauge railway on track 45mm wide (the same as gauge 1, but to a heavier profile). For more on this group click on banner above.

Gauge 1 model Railway Association.

The basic premise for Gauge One is a track gauge of 1¾ inches which equates to 44.45mm, generally referred to as 45mm. Everyone who uses this gauge (or an equivalent scale in any other gauge) is welcome to join.  Please click on banner above for more details.

The Association of larger scale railway modellers.

The Association has  the express aim of keeping modellers in touch with the trade and trade in touch with the modellers. The Association is non-political, open to anyone interested in model railways in the larger scales S, 0, 1, G and upwards, be it electric, steam, clockwork etc. We are not a replacement for any existing societies, groups, clubs etc. but believe we compliment them. The Gauge Three Society.

The Gauge '3' Society was founded on the 28th April 1990 by a small group of Gauge 3 (G3) enthusiasts, who wanted to keep 2.5 inch alive as the largest scale for standard gauge scenic model railways. Our objective as a Society is to encourage further interest and participation in G3, by building and running scenic G3 model railways. Click on banner to find out more.

  B.G.R.S

The Buckinghamshire Garden Railway Society (BGRS) is a group of friendly folk with 2 distinct types of activity. We all enjoy the excitement of large scale model railways and most of us have a track in the gardens of our homes. We hold “Garden Running Days” where our families can all come together and enjoy convivial conversations, we can run our trains on each others tracks, and round off the afternoon with a barbecue or buffet meal. With sun shining and limitless cups of tea and coffee what could be nicer on a summer afternoon? Running trains on winter evenings is a real pleasure to see the stock and layouts lit up.
