I started building it about
five years ago and it will not be finished for a good while yet.
My garden luckily for me is
split on two levels and so initially presented me with the
problem of how to use all the land, after much thought I decided
to use 'Metpost repair spikes' into these I insert a standard
wooden post cut to a rough height, this is after the posts have
been driven home using a fourteen pound sledge hammer. Once a
level determines the correct heights the post are hammered in to
the final position, standard decking is then cut to length and
screwed into place then roofing felt is placed on top, this not
only looks and weathers great but protects the wood and the
posts.
The railway consists of an
up and a down line, which are fully automated by LGB signal
controls, there is a further branch line which is again fully
automated using a reverse unit.
A rack railway runs from a
base station under the cable cars to the higher part of the
garden again fully automated, and a further tram line runs from
the Riechenbach station to a yet to be finished single line.
I am in the process
of converting to live steam as I find these locos and scales to
be simply fantastic to the point of being almost real! I will
retain some LGB for the automated running as this is very
relaxing especially whilst steaming up the live locos, anyway
LGB is good that I simply could not be totally without it, I
know I need counselling for this addiction but hey you only live
once.
Hope you like what you see
kind Regards Michael Brown
